Project: Enhanced Feed Ban Compliance

In order to deal effectively with Specified Risk Material (SRM), in 2007 the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) increased regulations to separate waste streams at the source level. Mallot Creek Group provided overall project management, mechanical and electrical design, and process design required to accommodate the modified waste stream at XL Foods. Scope included design and construction for waste stream separation, waste dewatering, pre-treatment of effluent, handling and transportation to secondary processing facilities in Saskatchewan and Alberta, in a total annual volume of 500,000 tons.
